Who are our ideal audience for our Horror?
The intended audience for our opening title sequence will be around 15 years old and above. We have decided to opt for the lower age of 15 rather than 18 , because it will make our horror available to a much larger and younger audience who are more likely to enjoy it than older adults. We also chose this age category because the characters we portray on screen are a similar age to this and would relate a lot more to this audience. To see if this was a good enough group to aim at we conducted some audience interviews.
We asked some of the following:
We asked some of the following:
- What did you think of our OTS?
- What do you think was good about it?
- Does it appeal to people your age?
- How do you think we could improve?
Sound Used in our OTS
Initially we had decided to use various soundtracks and distort the sound to get a strange and unique soundtrack for our OTS. In the end however we decided to make it entirely from scratch using Final Cut Pro to make the sound fit perfectly to each part as it happened. For example, the sound used on the titles was especially distorted, where as the sound used on each individual title was relatively simple.
This can be seen below with how complex our timeline became with the variety of sounds:

Year 9 Feedback
We also had feedback from a year 9 class that came in to view our OTS. These gave us their view as people around the same age as the target audience and lets us know what they think went well and what could be improved.
Overall the feedback was positive. Most said that it was well edited, the horror filter and effects were good and the organs were realistic . The only type of negative feedback we got was that the text was hard to read in places due to the glitching effect we put on it.
Tumblr Feedback
From looking at the reaction from social media we could see that our target audience seem to enjoy the OTS. From what was written this seems to be for similar reasons that the year 9 class said.
